Grown in Gakenke District’s Coko Sector at a lofty 2,070 metres, this Red Bourbon is clean, precise, and beautifully structured. Being fully washed at Dukunde Kawa Cooperative’s highest washing station, the elevation comes through vibrantly in the cup. It’s balanced and refined with bright mandarin up front, red grape juiciness through the middle, and a smooth milk chocolate sweetness to finish. It comes from 20 small holder farmers, most tending just a few hundred trees on tiny plots alongside maize, beans, and livestock. That small-scale, detail-focused production shows in the clarity of the cup. Coffees like this demonstrate the beauty in consistent quality, thoughtful processing, and that unmistakable high elevation vibrancy.
