Pink Bourbon's roots are from Ethiopia. Initially believed to have originated from the cross-pollination of red and yellow Bourbon trees, its beauty begins on the tree with a light pinkish hue when ripe and ready to pick. When it comes to cup-quality, think complex fruits and white flowers, reminiscent of the Geisha variety. Gabriel Castaño is the GodFather of Pink Bourbon. It was at his farm 'La Granada' in Acevedo, Huila that the variety was first found. Gabriel generously then shared them with other producers all over Southern Huila, and now the world. This decaffeinated Pink Bourbon is processed with the same care as which it was grown. The caffeine is removed by gently steaming the coffee seeds, followed by repeated bathing in a naturally derived solvent made from sugar cane and local fruits.
